Portraits and self portraits intro

Image
Tips: 1. Experiment with lighting: Side-lighting can create mood, backlighting and silhouetting your subject to hide their features can be powerful. 2. Anticipating behavior: The key is to watch people carefully. Always have your camera ready. If you;re going to be shooting in one situation, set the aperture and shutter speed in advance so you don't have to fiddle with them while you're shooting. 3. Looking off camera: Have your subject focus their attention on something unseen and outside the field of view of your camera. This can create a feeling of candidness and also create a little intrigue and interest as the viewer of the shot wonders what they are looking at. Environmental Portrait: I like this photo because the berries make it look like the man is walking through a sea of red and it looks really cool. I like this photo because it really captures the fisherman in his element. Photography self portrait I've seen this photo a l...

Aperture, shutter speed, and ISO

Image
1. The pupils in your eyes. 2. The smaller the aperture the smaller the background blur, the higher the aperture the bigger the background blur. 2. Aperture impacts depth of field because a bigger aperture will have more background which creates depth. Smaller apertures captures the details in the background and foreground. Slow shutter speed Fast shutter speed 1. D 2. C Auto mode, manual mode, shutter priority mode. Auto mode is when the camera chooses the shutter speed, not you. Shutter priority mode is when you choose the shutter speed and the camera chooses the aperture. Manual mode is when you choose the shutter speed and the aperture. ISO 200 ISO 3200 1. The advantages are that shooting at a higher ISO would shoot quickly and wouldn't add blur. IT would keep the details. 2. The author said to stick to the lowest ISO to get the most amount of detail and have the highest image quality. 3. The author said to use the highest setting to capture the image quickl...

Photo manipulation and ethics

Image
A. Some of the main points in the website regarding photo manipulation are anyone can edit or touch up a photo in a matter of seconds, where as before it used to take hours. The article says that "Any technique that can alter the original scene or image captured by the camera is considered unethical". B. The philoso phy of newspapers like the Washington Post and the New York Times regarding image manipulation is that they provide their photographers with strict guidelines on how to shoot and edit their photographs, such as: "No colors will be altered from the original scene photographed". C. Acceptable things you could do to an image (i think) and not cross the line unto an unethical manipulation are cropping something that isn't as important out of the picture, or adding a little bit of color. D.  This photo is the most unethical because they literally photo shopped her head onto a different woman's body. That's extremely rude and disrespectful esp...

C.E. #4.2

Short Response 1. More than $1 million 2. 20,000 jobs 3. Ethereum, Bitcoin 4. Butler Shores metropolitan park, Roy Guerrero metropolitan park, McKalla Place  5. Dating app Long Response 1. The article is about the lives of child actors. It talks about how being in the spotlight from an early age can affect you, and how some child actors have dealt with it. 2. Some of the problems with being a child actor are you're exposed to a lot from early on, especially now because of the internet and social media. There are high expectations to behave like an adult and not be so crazy. 3. Stranger Things 4. My current binge favorite is Black Mirror. 5. I get my entertainment from Netflix. 6. I watch it on my TV at home or on my phone. 7. I would not want to be a child actor because then my life wouldn't be private, it would be out for everyone to see and talk about. I wouldn't be able to relax without feeling like someone is watching me. Even if I wasn't...

Composition

Image
Simplicity This photo shows simplicity because like the website says, the reason for taking the picture is clear. The main focus in the photo is the tower with smoke coming out at the top. Rule of Thirds This photo shows the rule of thirds because the man in the foreground isn't directly in the middle, he's off to the side. The photo has more depth and meaning because if the man was standing in the middle then the other people wouldn't be visible. Lines This photo shows vertical lines which give the picture a falling sensation, just like the man. Balance This photo shows balance because the debris is in the corner and on the ground and it balances out the big piece of debris in the middle. Framing This photo shows framing because the people in the front are creating a border to the buildings as they watch. Mergers This photo shows mergers because there is a lot going on. It's hard to focus on one thing because of the debris, the people, and the fir...

C.E. #4.1

Short Answer: 1. La Veta, Colorado 2. Since the buttons are over their mouths then it means that they should stop talking. Because Trump has a bigger button it means that he's only making things worse and should really shut up. 3. Rich DePalma, Bobby Levinski, Ellen Troxclair, and Shane Sexton 4. 7 Bowie volleyball players 5. I would want to own the Bose SoundLink Micro because it's small, portable, and loud and it would be useful as someone who listens to music a lot. Long Response: 1. "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" 2. They want the book's sales halted because it portrays Trump as a volatile and ill-equipped chief executive. 3. No 4. A magazine or newspaper has a collection of stories to entertain or propaganda. A book takes a while to write and people tend to trust books more as a reliable source. They both can contain factual information but not always. 5. Yes because they should both contain correct information. 6. No 7. My dad wou...

Welcome back 2018

Image
Time 1. This photo is of Barron Trump looking bored and lonely during his father's inauguration. I like this picture because I think his facial expression is funny and more or less expected of a kid. NY Times 2. This is a photo of the Women's march in Washington DC the day after the presidential inauguration. I like this picture because so many people showed up in support of women's rights and to try to make a difference and I think that's very inspiring. Time 3. This is a photo of a black man being attacked by white people near a rally in Charlottesville. I think this is so sick and I hate that this kind of behavior still going on. 1. The best song of 2017 for me was Shape Of You by Ed Sheeran. Sheeran returned to social media at the start of the year, announcing new music. I chose this song because at first I was reluctant to listen to it but my friends were listening to it, and it was always being played on the radio. It's one of those songs that whe...
