Simplicity

This photo shows simplicity because like the website says, the reason for taking the picture is clear. The main focus in the photo is the tower with smoke coming out at the top.

Rule of Thirds
Gray Escape
This photo shows the rule of thirds because the man in the foreground isn't directly in the middle, he's off to the side. The photo has more depth and meaning because if the man was standing in the middle then the other people wouldn't be visible.

Lines

This photo shows vertical lines which give the picture a falling sensation, just like the man.

Balance
Still Standing
This photo shows balance because the debris is in the corner and on the ground and it balances out the big piece of debris in the middle.

Framing

This photo shows framing because the people in the front are creating a border to the buildings as they watch.

Mergers

This photo shows mergers because there is a lot going on. It's hard to focus on one thing because of the debris, the people, and the firetrucks all mixed together. Avoiding mergers would be a picture that focuses on something simple and easy to the eyes.

Symmetry and patterns
Image result for JOSE JIMENEZ, PRIMERA HORA/GETTY IMAGES
This photo shows symmetry and patterns because the lines on the building are on both sides which creates symmetry. The squares and the way the lines are placed indicate a pattern.

Create depth

This photo shows depth because of the buildings in the background that make it look like there is more than just the Statue of Liberty in the picture.

Viewpoint

This photo shows viewpoint because it was taken from somewhere far away from the scene. It shows all the smoke and the buildings on the island.

Cropping

This photo shows cropping because it focuses on the main subject which is the two women. It is clearer than if the photo was of them but with a surrounding group.
