The Man Who Played The Violin
Do we perceive beauty?
Everyone is capable of perceiving beauty. Some perceive it in different ways however. One person may look at the clouds and the flowers growing in the cracks of the pavement and think of how beautiful it all is, but someone else might look at the buildings towering over them downtown and the reflection of the cars in the shiny glass and be reminded of beauty.
Do we stop to appreciate it?
I think that in certain circumstances we do stop to appreciate it, but seeing as how with new technology we're so caught up in the virtual world that we don't stop to appreciate the things going on around us.
Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?
In an unexpected content, no. We most likely don't realize that whatever it is, is happening at that very moment.
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
Stopping for one street musician isn't the worst thing that a person could do. Being late for work once won't kill you, the world won't end. Everyone is so rushed with everyday life, but if we just stopped for a minute and looked around and actually payed attention to things going on around us, I think it would change people's perspectives a lot.
