Current Events Quiz #1

Short Response
1. U.S District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos
2. USS John S. McCain
3. Carbon monoxide poisoning
4. 50 million people
5. Pride parade because I've wanted to go for a while and I want to show my support to the LGBT community.

Long Response
1. People in Charlottesville put covers over statues of confederate generals. They did this because what happened there was hateful and wrong. Keeping the statues up would give the idea that it's still okay and that nothing has changed.
2. The statues should be shrouded because what happened was bad and keeping them up is forcing people to remember.
3. UT taking down statues of Confederate heroes is a good decision because they want to set a good example.
4. I think that the statues should be covered up because they represent racism and that isn't something that I'm for.
5. I have heard people talking about what happened in Charlottesville but not the statues. My parents talk about it discreetly probably because they don't want me to know how bad things are, or the gory details. They think that what happened is sad and wrong.
